Somerville Business Group Inc

The Somerville Business Group was established in July 2021.

The objectives of the Group are-:

• To promote Somerville as a great place to Shop, Work, Invest and Play for all relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with local Council and Councillors, State & Federal Members of Parliament.
• Liaise with local Police.
• Liaise with NBN Co.

 

• Liaise with Telcos for better phone services for business​

We meet regularly on the 3rd Monday of the month, mainly at Somerville Community House.

 

The Council has already said it fully supports Groups like ours. So, by all of us getting together on a regular basis, we can provide a voice on issues that affect local businesses – for example:
• NBN Co with representation to extend the Business Fibre Zone to Somerville (finalized December 2023).

•  Beautification of the Somerville shopping area through tree planting - with the Council. Currently working on planning for gardens etc to meet the Baxter to Somerville Bike path.

• Graffiti and Law & Order - with Neighbourhood Watch.
• Traffic planning in the Industrial area - with the Council.
• Street Lighting in the Somerville Residential area - with the Council.
• The Roundabout in Somerville - with Vic Roads.
• Christmas decorations in Somerville - with the Council.
• Santa comes to Somerville in December by the Group. Now in its 5th year.

• Somerville Best Christmas Window Competition in December by the Group. Now in its 3rd year.​

                             -  Not for Profit $ 15.00 (no GST)

   - Associate FREE

These fees are for the period 1st January, 2025 to 30th June, 2026 - 18 months worth!!
